Settle Area Splash and Fun Club was first introduced to our timetable in the holidays of February 2012. The sessions were formed as a result of a grant which we kindly received from Craven School Sport Partnership.
The role of the club, run in school holidays only, is to provide a fun programme of aquatic activities to children living in Settle and the surrounding areas. Sessions are one hour and are available to children aged 4 to 13 years.
The activities cater for non-swimmers and competent swimmers - swimmers of all abilities. The activities are tailored so either introduce the aquatic environment or develop exisiting skills in a fun and safe manner. All sessions are delivered through fun and games but in such a way that it allows the children through guided discovery to gain a essential life skill. Another benefit of the grant was that it allowed us to purchase a great list of toys...frog/teddy floats, swim fins, water polo nets and balls...the list goes on.
All sessions are planned and delivered by A.S.A. qualified/experienced teaching staff and are supervised by two R.L.S.S. qualified lifeguards. The number of swimmers per class is kept small so children benefit highly from the activities. The price per session is kept low as a result of the grant. The Splash Club compliments our popular learn to swim sessions which do not run in the school holidays.
