Settle Swimming Pool began its existence back in 1972 and in 1974 the site was developed and opened in that year. It is strategically sited close to all local amenities such as trains and buses, and a good shopping area with several supermarkets. It also borders on the new Ribblehead walk and cycle path by the River Ribble just a stones throw from the pool. Also nearby are good standard campsites such as Knight Stainforth Hall Caravan And Camping Park and Langcliffe Caravan Park The area also boasts the new Pennine Cycle and Bridle ways. There are good quality hotels nearby. The pool nestles alongside the fantastic Yorkshire Dales National Park which includes the famous three Peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Ingleborough, and Whernside.
