Are you up for a challenge

WE need your waste paper and cardboard |
| The introduction of the blue bag/bin scheme for
collecting waste paper and cardboard could have a serious effect
on the finances of Settle Swimming Pool. We know that it is
easier to leave it out for collection but we ask everyone who
takes theirs to the Pool to please continue. Could those who
don't please go the extra mile if possible. We hope the people
of Ribblesdale will keep helping the Pool to maintain its
facilities. You have supported us in the past with enormous
success we ask that you continue to support us in the future.
Thank you. If you wish you can also empty
your BLUE
BAG at the skip near the entrance but you should keep your bag
as it is the councils property. Local resident in Feizor has set up a waste paper collection system, could you do the same ? Please ask your neighbour for their waste paper and support this facility in your local area for a local benefit to all, you know it makes sense. |
| Please give an hour of your time each week and become a "FRIEND" of
Settle Pool. The tireless work of the "Friends of Settle Swimming Pool" has made the pool what it is today, the most up to date swimming pool in the area. The newest update to the pool is the installation of a new air handling system to maintain the water temperature at around 28-32 deg, this was carried out over the Christmas period (2009) and is working great. |

| Here we see on the left is Peter Thackrah who has been
supporting the swimming pool for the past 12 years. Give that
man a medal! Ably assisting him is Derek Coultherd who has stepped into the breech and is the newest of the volunteers. Cardboard & paper is one of the main sources of income for the swimming pool. |
