To mark the 50th anniversary of the opening of the pool. We talked to some of the people instrumental in the creation of the pool and its running in the early days. In these two podcasts  you can hear from John Reid who lives just a few hundred yards from the pool and saw its development from the time when it was  a local farmer's field. In the second podcast Margaret Roberts, who helped run the fund-raising carnivals for many years talks with Keith Maltby, the former rugby league professional who was the pool manager for its first ten years and describes that as the best job he ever had.
